SuperMerge 2D

SuperMerge is a low-cost solution to an understanding of areas where the industry is not actively exploring but are essential to basin wide understanding to develop new play concepts in mature areas. Supermerge 2D dataset currently consists of a carefully chosen select 50,000 mile grid of carefully selected vintage data that ties to SuperCache 2D.  All data has been depthed with a meticulously constructed velocity model across the margin that incorporates well data along with deep velocities from SuperCache 2D and PSDM data. The result is a consistent dataset across the surveys available in time and depth. Regional interpretation in depth, tied to wells and SuperCache, is part of the deliverables. The interpretation consists of 7 mesozoic and 8 Tertiary horizons.

Key highlights of SuperMerge 2D:

  • Merged, balanced and depth converted library of high graded 2D data from over 50 surveys.

  • Continuously updated velocity model integrates over 300 deep well velocities with SuperCache and 3D velocities

  • Regional interpretation includes faults and horizons, regional isopachs of the main sequences and reservoir fairways

  • Help identify and re-evaluate less prolific, lightly-leased areas of the basin for new play potential.

  • Provides ability to monitor industry activity across the entire GOM basin

Deliverables

  • Time and Depth Stack (segy)

  • Velocity Model

  • Interpretation (faults and horizons)

SuperMerge 2D section across Texas Shelf showing detachment faults on Middle Eocene Surface. Wilcox and Cretaceous section are clearly seen underneath the surface.

A composite line from Destin Dome to NE Mississippi Canyon. The line traverses SuperCache 2D, SuperMerge 2D and 3D datasets. Notice the consistency of key horizons across the surveys due to careful matching of phase and amplitudes as well as a consistent velocity model.
